How to Pinch Your Kolinsky Brushes
Having trouble pinching or breaking in your beautiful new Kolinsky brush? Watch this video for a quick, simple, tutorial on how to achieve this!
STEP 1:
Submerge your Kolinsky brush into your monomer thoroughly to release all air bubbles.
STEP 2:
After your brush is soaked in the monomer, remove the liquid using a lint-free napkin. Immediately we can see that the bristles have softened while retaining its beautiful shape. Repeat steps 1 and 2.
STEP 3:
Make sure your brush is in the exact shape you would like your bristles to go in by using a lint-free napkin
STEP 4:
Cover your brush with a napkin and carefully use your pliers to pinch down on the metal tip of your brush. Don't use too much strength - you should be going back and forth from one side to the other to make sure you have an even surface
STEP 5:
When you're happy with your shape, make sure to dip your brush back into the monomer and shape it as desired. Store your brush upright for 24 hours before use.
