Rainbow Nail Art Tutorial For June Pride Month

Happy Pride Month, beautiful people! We’ve entered the halfway point of the year, which means it’s time to turn up the volume and wear your colors loud and proud. Whether you are marching in your local parade this June or dancing the night away at a festival, this beginner-friendly nail look is the best way to celebrate love in all its forms. Let's promote love, inclusion, and the beauty of diversity! Grab your fave tools and liners, and let’s get started with this rainbow nail art tutorial.

1. Apply a black base on the nail tip

In color psychology, black represents power, mystery, and elegance, making it a great foundation for your colorful masterpiece. 😉 Start by painting your nails with a rich, opaque black gel base color like the Rosé Duo - R02 All Black and flash-curing it for 15-30 seconds. While it might seem unconventional for a summer celebration, a dark background provides the high-contrast canvas that makes neon and pastel shades stand out.

2. Paint your rainbow with gel liners

We are modernizing the classic rainbow palette slightly by mixing rich jewel tones like emerald with soft trendsetters like mango and lavender. Using the Line Art Gel Kit (12 Flaming Red, 08 Pastel Green, 13 Tropical Mango, 16 Elegant Emerald, 18 Beautiful Blue, and 04 Lavender), carefully swoop your rainbow arches from the upper left side, then flash-cure to keep them sharp. Take your time in making the rainbows, and keep in mind that each line must increase in size or length.

3. Put a little cloud detail at the end

Clouds in art often represent hope and fresh beginnings. It is also a gorgeous nod to the history and spirit of pride. So, pick up a small bead of thick Diamond Sculpture Gel - White using the Sculpture Gel Brush and pat it into a fluffy, textured cloud shape right at the base of your rainbow with a silicone tip brush. Our Sculpture Gel is extremely versatile; it's a hard gel that can be molded with any art brush and applied over your natural nail or over a nail form.

4. Add golden copper glitter accents

When you want to give something a wow factor, adding metallic accents will do the trick. Dip your thin line brush into Rosé - R137 Fashion Passion, a copper glitter, and follow the curves along the very top edge of your nail tip. This acts like a shimmering frame, adding an unexpected warmth that beautifully complements the cool tones of the rainbow. Give this nail a 30-second cure to ensure all your artwork is set.

5. Lock in your art with a no-wipe top coat

Ta-da! We’re now at the last part. Seal the magic with our glossy no-wipe top coat, the iGel Beauty No Cleanse Top Coat. Layer a generous amount of this top coat over the entire nail, and make sure to encapsulate the edges of your 3D cloud. You can now give this nail tip a final, complete cure before moving to the rest of the nails. Using this kind of formula is a major time-saver for beginners because your nails come out of the lamp finished and zero-percent sticky (if they do come out sticky, better check your nail lamp and the quality of the top coat!).

Raising the rainbow flag high with nails that look so fly is the mood for June. Which part of this tutorial is your favorite?
