Who’s ready to create these wings of transformation? 🦋 Butterflies are the next best thing about Spring, and it just makes total sense to wear them alongside the florals of the season. For our dearest beginners, this is the perfect nail art to start with if you’re looking into learning the basics of the butterfly form. You’ll be able to create a masterpiece with just a few iGel Beauty products, within a few minutes. Let’s get started with our simple butterfly nail art tutorial! • Apply a nude base shade To make the butterfly design stand out, we need to create a beautiful contrast through a light base shade. Apply the TPO-free soft nude beige Dip & Dap Duo - DD012 Vintage Lace in 2-3 thin, even layers or until you achieve your desired opacity. Allow it to cure for 30 seconds under a reliable flash-curing lamp, like the PRO-X Mini Lamp. • Paint the butterfly’s forewing For Part 1 of the Butterfly design, we will paint both left and right forewings by drawing inspiration from a heart shape. With your Reflective Gel - RG05 Glam Luxe and thin line art brush, create the blueprint by outlining a heart shape pointing to the left, mimicking a wing. Fill in the shape using the same gel color, then do the same thing for the right wing. Make sure there’s enough space in the middle for the body. • Paint the butterfly’s hindwing For Part 2 of the butterfly design, we will now move on to the left and right hindwings. Still working with the same product, create two (left and right) leaf-like outlines, then fill in the middle to create a more solid-looking design and make it consistent with the forewings. Lock in the butterfly nail art by flash curing the nail for 30 seconds. • Outline the butterfly wings Let’s make our butterfly pop by outlining and finally drawing the intricacies. Grab your Line Art Gel - 02 Black on Black from the Line Art Gel Kit - 24 Colors and paint the wings and thin antennae. For the slightly curved details within the wings, be sure to apply a normal pressure followed by light pressure to achieve a natural and delicate line. • Bedazzle the butterfly body Now, we’re going to enhance the sparkle by placing two small rhinestones on the body or central section of our butterfly. Using the Rhinestone Picker Tool and your preferred adhesive, attach your two rhinestones from the Nail Art Rhinestone Box - 02 (the first should be slightly larger than the second), then flash cure for 30 seconds. Finish up with iGel Beauty No Cleanse Top Coat, now available in a HEMA-free version (PRO-X No Cleanse Top Coat). Much like the wings of a butterfly, our lives are a mosaic of moments that must be cherished, especially this coming spring season.
